Tom is a principal at MTK, with extensive experience serving small to medium size enterprises and entrepreneurial individuals.

Clients seek Tom’s advice on a wide range of planning issues, including sales and acquisitions, mergers, corporate and non-corporate structures, buy/sell agreements, qualified and non-qualified deferred compensation planning, performance pay programs, refinancing, and many other planning services for high-income, high-net worth clients.

Tom also consults with clients on ways to achieve their vision of success in business. He assists clients to create a business that works, so they can choose not to. Tom helps owners succeed by consulting on the four basic ways to grow a business, and by creating effective ways to measure performance.
In addition, Tom leads wealth transfer planning services at the Plymouth office. Providing mature consulting services on major decisions involving transfer taxes and other transitioning events.

Interests and Activities

Tom and Barb live in Plymouth. They have two adult children (Erin and Tom), and are very proud grandparents. Their interests include traveling – cruising in particular. Hobbies enjoyed are gardening, photography, and occasionally hacking up the golf course.
Tom’s service to community has included membership on his church board, as well as active participation in the Jaycees. He was an assistant scoutmaster for his son’s Boy Scout troop. Tom is a member of Rotary International, and is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow. He served as president of the Golden Valley Rotary Club (1996-1997), and served the 57 clubs of the Rotary District 5950 as the District’s Chief Financial Officer (2002-2006), and as the Treasurer of Operations (1998-2002). While at SCSU, he was a charter member of the Theta Tau Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity serving as finance officer in its initial year.
